Welcome Message from Lakeisha Mathews, NCDA President

Join me in Chicago for the 2023 NCDA conference!

The theme is Career Development Around the World: Making Connections and Increasing Access to Impact the Global Labor Market and focus will be given to the impact career development makes internationally in a post-pandemic world.

We will come together in Chicago, Illinois to connect with one another in our new normal. Chicago, much like my hometown of Baltimore, is a city known for its diversity, culture and industry. Located on lands that were the traditional homelands of Native people, Chicago is the perfect location for us to come together and discuss the global impact of career development work, share ideas across constituency groups, and discuss ways to increase access to career resources for all people.

There will be several keynote speakers to inspire, challenge and encourage you! In addition, a robust slate of general sessions, posters, and networking opportunities will be available to meet your learning needs. And, to seal the deal, I promise everyone will have the opportunity to connect with colleagues and old friends over a warm cup of coffee.

I hope you will plan to attend and I look forward to connecting with you in Chicago! My goal is that we can come together in our new normal and continue to restore what was lost over the last few years because of the pandemic. I also look forward to celebrating the work being done in career development around the world and to bring like minds together to help us forge a path forward.
